LoveLiBeirut (special project for Beirut, Lebanon)

On August 4, 2020, a colossal explosion in Beirut sent a mushroom cloud into the air and a supersonic blast wave radiated through the city. The blast wave levelled buildings and caused extensive damage over much of the city, which is home to two million people. This huge catastrophe killed at least 200 people, injured around 5,000 and left as many as 300,000 people as homeless.
On August 6, 2020, in the Washington area, a campaign named LoveLiBeirut started trending over social media, asking for donations in categories including medical, hygiene, clean-up, and home resources. All donations were due on August 15, 2020. BOM quickly contacted LoveLiBeirut and informed them of their participation. The movement requested BOM to focus on medical and hygiene items.
Within two days, BOM collected enough monetary donations (in addition to in-kind donations) to be able to purchase the following: alcohol prep pads, assorted bandages, feminine pads, exam gloves, hygiene kits, hand sanitizers, handmade and disposable masks.
On August 15, BOM successfully delivered the items to the drop off location indicated by LoveLiBeirut.
