Brigade of Mercy provides compassionate, immediate support to families fleeing conflict and crisis. Our refugee program delivers essential supplies, and community integration resources that help newcomers rebuild their lives with dignity. Through partnerships with local agencies and global relief networks, we ensure families receive safety, stability, and a welcoming hand as they begin again. We assist all types of refugees including Afghan families since their first arrival in late August 2020.

Access to basic hygiene items is a fundamental human need. Our hygiene kits are distributed to shelters, schools, and crisis‑response partners to support individuals facing homelessness, displacement, or financial hardship. Each kit includes carefully selected essentials that promote health, confidence, and well‑being. This program allows donors to make a direct, immediate impact with items that are always in demand.

Brigade of Mercy mobilizes volunteers to pack thousands of nutritious meals for communities affected by hunger, conflict, and natural disasters. These high‑energy meals are distributed locally to families in need and also shipped to international partners. Our food‑packing events bring people together in service, transforming collective action into life‑sustaining relief for vulnerable populations.

Blessing Boxes are pantries which provide essential supplies to students and families in Title I schools who face ongoing economic challenges. Each box is filled with hygiene items, snacks, and emergency essentials that help children learn with confidence and stability. This signature project strengthens school partnerships and ensures that no child’s education is limited by lack of resources. Blessing boxes are located on school property.

Our Winter Clothing Drive ensures children, families, and refugees stay warm during the harshest months of the year. We collect and distribute new undergarments, socks, coats, gloves, hats, and cold‑weather essentials to schools and shelters across the region. This seasonal program meets a critical need and reflects our commitment to protecting the most vulnerable from the dangers of winter, especially during the hypothermia months.

Holiday Baskets bring warmth, nourishment, and hope to families during the festive season. BOM distributes Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets. Each basket feeds a family of six and includes gift cards, food staples, seasonal treats, and thoughtful items that help families celebrate with dignity. This beloved community tradition invites donors to share joy and generosity with neighbors who need it most.

When families transition out of shelters into permanent housing, Brigade of Mercy provides Move‑Away Baskets filled with household essentials that support a fresh start. Items include twin air mattresses, cleaning supplies, kitchen basics, linens, and personal care products. These baskets ease the financial burden of relocation and help families step into their new chapter with confidence.

Reliable access to snacks supports learning, stability, and daily well‑being. We supply schools, youth programs, and shelters with nutritious snacks that help children stay focused and families stay nourished. This program fills a simple but powerful gap that directly improves daily life for those we serve.

Our School Supplies program equips students with the tools they need to succeed. From backpacks and notebooks to pencils and many other items, we provide classroom essentials to children in underserved communities. These supplies reduce financial strain on families and empower students to learn, grow, and thrive.

The Adopt a Family Holiday Wish List program through shelters connects Brigade of Mercy with children and families who need extra support during the season of giving. We fulfill entire wish lists of many families, ensuring every recipient experiences joy, dignity, and a sense of being seen. This program strengthens community bonds and celebrates the spirit of generosity.

Brigade of Mercy’s Baby Baskets provide comfort, security, and essential care items to newborns and their families who are facing financial hardship or transitioning out of shelters. Each basket is thoughtfully assembled with diapers, wipes, clothing, blankets, bottles, and hygiene essentials that support a baby’s first few months of life. Baby Baskets strengthen our commitment to protecting the most fragile members of our community and ensuring every child begins life with dignity and warmth.
