DOMESTIC PROJECTS
Afghan Refugees
Since the arrival of the Afghan refugees in late August 2020, BOM has attended to their needs at the local hotels in Virginia. We provided clothing, shoes, luggage, hygiene products, phone chargers, toys and many other items to help over 200 families. We also helped families in Fort Lee. We are now helping families who are settling around the Washington, D.C. area by attending to to their household needs.

Hoffman-Boston Elementary School
Hoffman-Boston Elementary School is a Title I school in Arlington County, VA serving low income students. BOM built a food pantry containing non-perishable items for the students and their families: oil, pasta, canned vegetables, granola bars, canned tuna and jam.

Second Story
Second Story provides safe havens and opportunities to grow and thrive to youth experiencing homelessness and youth and families in crisis. Their programs provide support to youth at critical moments in their lives. BOM provides women hygiene kits, food, gift cards, clothing, baby items, for teens residing in shelters, young mothers, homeless youth, and local communities in need. Our largest drives are for Back to School backpacks/schools supplies and Thanksgiving baskets. During Covid-19, we made deliveries every 2 weeks.

New Hope Housing
New Hope Housing is a non-profit finding lasting solution to end the cycle of homelessness by offering homeless men, women, and children the services they need to change their lives and succeed. BOM provides women hygiene kits, clothing, undergarments, towels and air mattresses, needed for shelter residents, especially during hypothermia months (November-March), as well as welcome baskets when people move from shelters to apartments. BOM furnished an apartment in Bailey's Shelter and Supportive Housing before the new facility opened.

Carpenter’s Shelter
Carpenter’s Shelter supports the homeless in achieving sustainable independence through shelter, guidance, education, and advocacy. BOM provides gift cards, air mattresses, winter coats and shoes. We also provide items from the holiday wish lists of the shelter’s residents and local communities in need. BOM also provides meals at the shelter.

Falls Church Homeless Shelter
Falls Church Homeless Shelter is an integral part of the Fairfax-Falls Church Partnership to Prevent and End Homelessness. The shelter operates during hypothermia months from November to March. BOM provides warm clothing and hygiene goods for the residents of the shelter.

Park View High School
Park View High School is a Title I school in Loudoun County, VA serving low income students. BOM has placed a Brigade of Mercy Blessing Box at the school to serve the needs of the students and their families. The box contains feminine products, toothbrush/toothpaste, laundry detergent, socks and other hygiene products.

Sterling Middle School
Sterling Middle School is a Title I school in Loudoun County, VA serving low income students. BOM provides hygiene items such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorants and body wash.

Stanton Elementary School/ Calvin Coolidge Senior High School
Stanton Elementary School/ Calvin Coolidge Senior High School are both Title I sister schools in Washington, D.C. serving low income students. BOM provides baby baskets for young teenage mothers with clothing and baby items a new mother would need for her baby. We also provide snacks for remediation classes held on Saturdays at the school. BOM also provided 200 backpacks filled with school supplies for the 2023 school year.

Meal Packaging
BOM mobilizes volunteers to package meals for local food banks, shelters and people in need around the globe when disasters strike. BOM usually packs over 10,000 meals per meal packaging event.

Fairfax County Department of Family Services (DFS)
DFS promotes the well-being of the County's diverse community by protecting and improving the lives of children, adults and families through supportive services, education, and advocacy. BOM provides baby baskets, clothing, and hygiene products for new mothers and children in need. We also sponsor families during the holidays to fulfill their wish lists.

Inova Children’s Hospital
Inova Children’s Hospital is a full-service children’s hospital devoted to the healthcare of infants, children, and adolescents in the Northern Virginia area. The hospital houses comprehensive medical services and specialists who focus on the unique treatment of younger patients. BOM provides shoes, winter clothing, and hygiene kits to young patients in need.
STATUS: ON HOLD – Due to Covid-19, the hospital is currently not accepting in-kind donations.
